Program Goals

The chief goal of the GW Neurology Training Program is to foster exceptional training in clinical and basic neurology along with providing the opportunity for clinical or basic research in the neurosciences. We aim to provide residents with exposure to all aspects of subspecialty neurology and neuroscience with increasing autonomy and the tools necessary to become outstanding practitioners. Our program strives to remain flexible as our educational goals evolve along with the changing health system to address all aspects of training necessary to coordinate patient care for individuals with neurological disease.

The program is balanced with required rotations, didactic conferences, and electives. Core curriculum sessions address practice issues, medical economics and professionalism, among other topics. This residency fulfills eligibility requirements for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology examinations.
