What is a Clinical Trial?
A clinical trial is a research study in human volunteers designed to answer a specific question about a disease and/or its treatments. Through clinical trials, clinicians discover new ways to prevent, detect, diagnose, treat and manage a specific disease.
Why should I participate in a clinical trial?
By participating in a clinical trial you can play a more active role in your own health care, have access to new research treatments before they become available. The costs of the study are usually covered by the company sponsoring the trial.
